Are You Ready? Carson City's First Preparedness Fair Is This September

Disasters usually strike when we least expect them. Luckily, you can take control before they do. The Carson City Preparedness Fair will give local families the ultimate safety toolkit. Mark your calendars for September 30, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The free event will take place at the Carson City Community Center, located at 851 E. Williams Street.

The fair focuses on a simple four-step plan: "Be Ready, Get Set, Go Now, and Recover." Attendees can walk through interactive booths and speak face-to-face with local safety experts. You will learn how to secure your property against local hazards, protect your loved ones, and recover if a crisis occurs.

Your health is also part of staying prepared. Carson City Health and Human Services will be on-site to provide public flu shots. Getting vaccinated now helps you and your community get ahead of the upcoming winter respiratory season.

Make sure to bring the whole family and show up early! The first 100 families through the door will win a head start on their home safety. They will walk away with free essential supplies to build their very own emergency Go-Kit.
