Angela Barosso

PHP Program Manager

Angela Barosso is the Manager of the Public Health Preparedness Program, which is funded by the Nevada State Health Division through federal grants from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Department of Health and Human Services. She has been in this position since 2006 and appreciates the opportunity to collaborate with other City departments and community partners to prepare for and respond to emergencies that affect the health and well-being of Carson City and Douglas and Lyon Counties. She is one of the lead planners for the free flu immunization clinics held annually in October, and participates in preparedness exercises and training.  She has a B.A. in Humanities from the University of California, Davis.  She is currently a member of the Nevada Public Health Association and the National Association of City and County Health Officials.

Stacey Belt

Hospital Preparedness Planner

Stacey’s area of focus includes all hazard emergency preparedness training and bio-terrorism response, risk communication, healthcare and public health emergency response activities in four Western counties in Nevada. Stacey is a Certified Healthcare Professional, demonstrating her ability to work in the field of emergency planning, response, mitigation and recovery within the healthcare system and she is additionally certified by FEMA as a Master Exercise Program Practioner, with extensive experience and knowledge developing, evaluating and reporting disaster exercises. She also provides training in critical disaster related training including the Incident Command System and other Homeland Security initiatives.

Karen Allen, RN

H1N1 Planner

Karen Allen is a Public Health Preparedness Planner, and has been with Carson City Health and Human Services since October 2009. She assumed the primary planner leadership for the 2009 H1N1 vaccination response for Carson City Health and Human Services. Karen is a registered nurse and has a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Chapman University. She has been a practicing registered nurse for 39 years in women’s health, case management and community health services. Additionally, she is a Certified Professional in Health Care Quality since 1995.

Carol Godtfredsen

Health Program Specialist

Carol Godtfredsen is the Health Communications Administrator, and has been with the program since 2004. She coordinates all Health Alert Notices to the Carson City medical community and serves as the logistics coordinator for all PHP events. For the ten years prior to coming to Carson City, she was the In-flight Catering Coordinator with a major regional airline.

Kathi Haynie

Medical Reserve Corps Coordinator

Kathi Haynie has recently joined the CCHHS PHP program as the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) Coordinator. As a nurse of 33 years, she brings an abundance of experience to the team. She has worked in many fields, including Intensive Care, Home Health, Family Practice, Pediatrics and Occupational Health Nursing. She has been a MRC volunteer for 4 years, assisting with many of the flu vaccination clinics. After helping as a volunteer, she realized she had a passion for emergency preparedness and response and was happy to join the PHP team in October of 2010. Her goals are to educate the community in all the different ways they might be able to help in time of need and make sure they are prepared to respond to an emergency both at home and at work.

Taylor Radtke

Medical Reserve Corps Coordinator

Taylor Radtke came to the Public Health Preparedness team from Carson City Animal Services in November 2010. She is currently studying at Western Nevada College with a major in Business and minor in Criminal Justice. Carson City Health and Human Services has also inspired her to one day pursue a degree in public health. Taylor plays a large role in coordinating and participating in the Medical Reserve Corps, as well as volunteering with the Community Emergency Response Team through Carson City Fire Department. When Taylor is not working, she enjoys spending time with family and operating off-road vehicles.

Dave Johnson

Health Program Specialist

Dave Johnson joined CCHHS in 2008 bringing with him a varied financial background including experience with Federal, State, and Municipal accounting systems.  After four years with the United States Air Force, Dave began his civilian career in Federal service as an auditor, working 13 years for the Office of Inspector General. This was followed by 10 years as a grant program specialist for the Federal Aviation Administration. After moving to Carson City, he spent two years writing child care grants for the Carson City chapter of the Salvation Army. He then served for four and a half years as a grants program manager, with the Nevada State Health Division, before joining the CCHHS Division as a Health Program Specialist. He currently assists with developing and managing the fiscal aspects for a portion of the CCHHS grant program. Dave's education includes BA degrees in both Accounting and Psychology. His volunteer service includes serving, for the past nine years, on the Executive Committee for Carson City Chapter 7's Disabled American Veterans organization. He recently joined the Carson City Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) and is looking forward to the new and challenging opportunities this will provide.
