Cortney Bloomer, MPH, CHES, DIS

Health Educator/Disease Intervention Specialist

Cortney Bloomer is a West Virginia native whose work in Public Health brought her to Carson City in 2009. At CCHHS, she is involved in many different facets of public health, including sexually transmitted disease investigation and intervention, public health preparedness, and health education and promotion. Cortney also works collaboratively with other Health Department programs to design marketing materials, manage the CCHHS Facebook page, and oversee the departments’ compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act).

Cortney has a Masters Degree in Public Health from West Virginia University and a B.S in Biology from West Virginia Wesleyan College.  When she is not working, she likes to spend time outdoors or at home with her 2 dogs. She tries to stay healthy by running and riding her bike.
